Fire Chief Stephen Coleman (CFO, MPA) has been a career firefighter for 30 years in the Massachusetts fire service, currently serving as the chief of the Auburn Fire Rescue Department. He has previously held the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain and Deputy Chief. Chief Coleman holds a bachelor’s degree in fire science and a master’s degree in public administration from Clark University. He is a Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designee, credentialed fire chief in the state of Massachusetts, is a nationally certified Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor II, and is a graduate of the UMASS Donahue Institutes Chief Fire Officer Management Training Program. Chief Coleman is a past instructor with the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and served on the adjunct faculty at Anna Maria College in their Fire Science program. Chief Coleman speaks regularly on the topic of leadership, public relations and customer service in the fire service, has contributed previous articles to Fire Rescue magazine, and is a past speaker at Fire-Rescue International, CPSE Excellence Conference and many other state fire and life safety conferences.
