Emilee Freeman is the Public Safety GIS/Data Analyst at the City of San Marcos, where she uses her experience, analytical skills, and dedication to quality customer service to advance the use of data-driven GIS solutions within the Public Safety departments. She also supports projects with the GIS & IT Teams to ensure scalable and robust system operation, advancement of enterprise geospatial technologies and web-based interactive mapping solutions. By analyzing geographical data and patterns, she helps contribute to creating safer communities through strategic resource allocation and effective emergency response strategies.
Emilee received her B.S. in Resource and Environmental Studies from Texas State University in 2021 and went on to earn her M.S. in Geography with a focus in Geographic Information Systems in 2023. Throughout her graduate education, Emilee taught undergraduate students the foundations and principles of Geography. Here, she found her love for a service-oriented career and joined the City of San Marcos following graduation, where she has henceforth served in her current role. When Emilee is off the clock, she can likely be found holed up with her latest favorite book or training with her dog, Bunny, to become a volunteer pet therapy team.
