Kelly helps individuals and organizations achieve exceptional performance by applying specific tools and techniques that guide leadership development. She works on large scale vision and strategy but also deploys specific actionable steps that deliver measurable results.
Uniquely qualified to work with Fire Departments, Kelly has 20+ years of experience in Human Resources with 10 years as an HR partner (partially embedded) to a 350-person municipal fire department in Mesa, Arizona.
In recent years as a consultant, she has focused her business on providing high performance leadership skills to Fire Chief Officers, Company Officers, and those who aspire to those roles. She created a leadership academy that includes follow up coaching and mentoring to keep the learning alive. Along with Retired Fire Chief Dan Jones (Chapel Hill, NC), she has taught countless Fire personnel through formal programs and speaking engagements.
Kelly has now brought this acclaimed leadership training to those who are unable to attend out of town training through the “Brave Fire Leader” on-line Academy. Her focus is on teaching leaders how skills on the fire ground can be used to address administrative problems. She and Jones co-authored Facing the Fire: Stories to Ignite Leadership Excellence published in April 2021 (available on Amazon).
