Jason Cerrano was a mechical engineering student at a school in Missouri in the late 90's. A year before his graduation he found his way onto a volunteer fire department. That experience made him fall in love with the profession. After graduation Jason turned down his engineering job and decided to get his paramedic license so that he could pursue a career as a medic/firefighter in the St. Louis metropolitan area. In 2009 while working the pump panel at his career department he realized there was a better way. Jason started the patent process and began his vision for a pump operating system that would address dozens of common fire ground frustrations while assisting the pump operator enough that departments everywhere would feel some relief on the fire ground with the extra help. In 2017 Jason put his first prototype on the street and it was a huge success. The realizations of automation for the fire ground were even more beneficial that predicted. In 2018 IDEX Fire and Safety brought Jason onto their team. He had to leave the fire service at the rank of Captain to work full time with IDEX to make his invention a reality in the fire industry. Jason now manages the product line, developes new technology for water flow and data in the fire service. Jason also travels the country discussing and solving fireground issues with departments from all over. He is always following his passion to improve the fire service for everyone with new solutions that have real and positive impacts for the fireground and the people working it.
