Dr. Danny Kistner is currently the Lead Coordinator for Fire Programs Outreach and Education for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, an instructor with ESTI/Executive Programs for TEEX, an independent public safety consultant, and Associate Vice President for Recruitment Services with Clear Career Professionals. He retired in January of 2023 from the fire service, after spending 40 years in public safety with the last 14 years as the fire chief. He earned his Doctor of Liberal Studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, a master's degree from Oklahoma State University, and his undergraduate degree from Western Oregon University. Danny Is an Executive Fire Officer graduate, held Chief Fire Officer designation since 2006, and is currently a Fellow with the Institute of Fire Engineers. Danny served for 10 years on the IAFC Safety Health and Survival Section Board of Directors, was a past member of the IAFC Professional Development Committee, the Ebola and PPACA Task Force', and past President of the Texas Fire Chiefs Association.
