With over 20 years of experience in the fire service, Dr. Joe Pennino serves as the Fire Chief of the City of Roswell, Georgia. He leads a department of more than 200 dedicated professionals who provide fire suppression, emergency medical services, and community risk reduction to a population of over 95,000 residents. His mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of the community and team members by delivering high-quality and responsive services that exceed the expectations of stakeholders.
As a Doctor of Public Administration and an Adjunct Professor at Liberty University, Dr. Pennino is also passionate about advancing the field of public administration and leadership. He teaches and develops courses on leadership in fire service organizations and has published several research papers on topics such as response time standards, organizational culture, and performance measurement. Dr. Pennino believes that by applying evidence-based practices, innovative solutions, and collaborative approaches, local governments can enhance public services and collectively redefine the future of the public sector.
