Ray Reynolds currently serves as the Fire Chief for the City of Nevada. He oversees fire department operations and serves as a sworn peace officer, fire chief, and critical care paramedic within the Nevada Public Safety Department. Ray also continues to work as a line Fire Lieutenant/paramedic part-time in Bondurant, Iowa and holds most of the IFSTA fire certifications.
Ray continues to implement community risk reduction programs focused on a multidisciplinary approach to reduce injuries to firefighter and the community. Ray has a bachelor degree in criminal justice administration, is a certified public manager, and holds a Master’s Degree in organizational leadership.
Ray is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) serving on the board of the Fire and Live Safety Section (FLSS). He also serves as the chair of the home oxygen therapy working group dedicated to reduce fires related to using medical oxygen at home.
Ray is a twenty-two-year Veteran with the Iowa Army National Guard and served a one-year combat tour in Iraq in 2003. Ray retired a Sergeant First Class (E7) with an Honorable Discharge.
