Amy Hanifan is the Operations Chief with McMinnville Fire Department in McMinnville, Oregon and has been with the department since 2001.Having served in the fire service for over 20 years she started as a volunteer and has held the ranks of firefighter/paramedic, field training officer, company officer, and interim Fire Chief. Amy earned a B.S. in Fire Administration from Eastern Oregon University, an A.S. in Paramedicine from Chemeketa Community College, and is a graduate of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Fire Service Executive Development Institute.
Amy is the immediate past-president for Women in Fire and has been on the board since 2013. She has been greatly involved with health, safety, and inclusion initiatives. Amy was the project lead for the USFA document, “Emerging Health and Safety Issues among Women in the Fire Service ” and has presented the topic in several venues at the national level. Amy also serves as the 2nd Vice-president for the Oregon State Fire Chief’s Association and the chair for their EMS Section.
