Matthew Caward, MBA, CFO, FO, MO, CFI-3, MIFireE

Matt Caward is a certified smoke diver, a published author, and a 22-year veteran of the Fire Service. The founder of the 2x world champion professional arena football franchise, the Duke City Gladiators. A successful business owner and an ordained pastor of more than 20 years. Matt is the first ever credentialed fire officer (FO) in New Mexico and is currently credentialed as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO). Matt is a graduate of the NFA’s managing officer (MO) program and a Current EFO student. Matt serves on the International Fire Chiefs Association Company Officer's Section board. He is an active member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors and the Institution of Fire Engineers. He Has both an MBA and a Master’s degree in Biblical Theology. A bachelor’s degree in Fire Service Administration and a BAS in Biblical Theology. Matt is currently working on a doctorate in education. Matt is an active instructor at the National Fire Academy, the New Mexico State Fire Academy and a fire science instructor at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque, NM. Matt is the vice president of the NM Fire Marshals Association and a US Army veteran.
