ELEC-301: What is The Future of Technology for the Fire Sevice

Envisioning the future of fire service technology is difficult. Ten years ago, not may could have imagined how far we have come with new tools, wearables, deplorables (robotics), and data information systems.
Several fire leaders have undertaken envisioning the future fire service state through "Technology Plans" of which will be overviewed to the class.
This presentation will provide a 5–10 year outlook on what is the future of fire services technology and provide examples of technology plans designed to move to a future state.

Learning Objectives:

  • The participant will gain an understanding of several key emerging technologies in the fire service that are not being widely used today.
  • The student will be provided with overviews of fire service technology plans and will understand the planning process required to envision a future technology state and how to plan to reach that state.
