NEW for FRI 2024! The IAFC is proud to announce the Officer Development Program LIVE at FRI!
New this year! ODP participants will be required to attend 6 breakout sessions designated for their level. Afterward, each participant will receive 1) a transcript of sessions attended onsite and 2) a link from Columbia Southern University. The link is a log-in to their educational platform, where participants will complete two additional courses and take an online exam. Each ODP participant will receive a Certificate of Completion for their designated level.
If a participant fails to attend any required component of the ODP, he/she will not earn credit for the level. However, the participant will still earn general attendance hours for the session. It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure he/she receives credit for the sessions by having their badge scanned at the beginning of each session for their level, ensures his/her transcript is correct, and keep record of the levels completed.
Choose your desired level below to learn more:
Attendance Officer Development Program (ODP) participants must attend all sessions/days within a level of the program to receive credit. Participants cannot attend one session/day in 2024 and additional sessions/days another year. (For example, if John registers for Company Officer III, he must attend all Company Officer III sessions/days to receive credit.) Participants cannot mingle different levels of the ODP. Participants will be prompted to select a level during your registration process. If you do not select during registration, you can still complete your desired level by attending all courses onsite.
We strongly prefer you register so we can plan our space needs better.Progam OverviewColumbia Southern University has partnered with the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) to deliver the Officer Development Program (ODP). The ODP is designed to provide leading fire professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to adeptly navigate the challenges of modern fire service. Embracing a multidimensional approach, the series combines academia and real-world experience through the expertise of International Association of Fire Chief members and CSU’s renowned educational background. Each ODP Series consists of three courses. These courses can be taken separately from earning the fall series certification for CEU credit. Completion of an entire Series (all three courses) is equivalent to three academic credit hours.
Columbia Southern University is a proud partner of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, serving as its official Officer Development Program (ODP) educational partner. International Association of Fire Chief members who register for this series may save $100 in tuition by using code “IAFC” during registration.
